JR was started by a couple of passionate & entrepreneurial foodies, Jocelyn & her husband, Richard. They saw a vast potential in the area of ready-to-eat foods back in the early 2000s. They identified a market niche for busy working consumers like themselves who could not find time to cook delicious meals at home.
With the rapid expansion of JR’s business in the last 5 years, JR Group Holdings was established to oversee the various core business. Four subsidiaries was subsequently established:

JR Foods Pte Ltd which was registered in 2001 to manufacture cook chill and cook freeze meals; continued to exapand on its business of supplying its products to the supermarkets and HORECA market sectors, as well as to airlines like SIA, Qantas etc From the year 2008, JR Foods expanded into the catering business, taking on massive institutional catering contracts and catering to various events and functions.
JR F&B Concepts Pte Ltd which launched its first restaurant brand, Oceanspoon Dining in 2011 now has 3 other outlets to its name. In the same year, the popular Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant, SHIMA with more than 30 years of establishment in Singapore, became a 100% subsidiary of the JR Group. Imperial Feast Cantonese Restaurant, set up in late 2011 was JR F&B Concepts first foray into the Chinese Fine Dining Restaurant businesss.

JR Vending Pte Ltd was incorporated in 2012 to spearhead the development, distribution and operation of its hot food vending machine business in Singapore and oversea.

JR China Venture Pte Ltd will be the vehicle for JR expansion into China and the global arena.
